what-we-hear:

Lone’s new album is streaming on SoundCloud:

Lone, a UK producer who hangs with the 1-800-Dinosaur crew, makes instrumental dance music; his sound is fast paced and shimmering. His tracks tent to feel light and connected to a larger sonic universe where glittering reptiles push up riverbeds through neon stands of plant life, glowing and glassy-eyed fish swim deep underwater through chasms that pulse and reflect their inhabitants’ bio-luminescence.

His new album takes some more modern and club-centric twists - therse a greater influence on classic house dropped into this batch of songs, and it works. The sounds of 80s dreamscape synths and future garage rhythms are always ever-present in his work, too.

Give it a listen.
